There but for the grace of God go I
Walking the streets with really no place to be,
Day to day survival, not such an easy game to play.
Within the heat or rain i travel and take cover,
As i look all around, there is not much care.
To take a bath or shower would be a treat,
Something to eat a much appreciated gift for me.
Conversation not a lot as i’m locked in my own world,
They try not to see me, pretending i’m not there.
I don’t wish to offend them as i’m not often clean,
My blame for my own circumstance is not put upon them.
I have a name, i am a human being, i grew up like most of you,
So many are one step away from where i sleep and stay.
So as i am embarrassed i would like to ask, please!
Can you spare a dollar.?
